It is with much appreciation and gratitude I write this letter. Hands 4 Learning has been a year in the making and for most of that, simply a dream and progression of thoughts and hopes.
After meeting with Ms Hanrahan, Director of Pacific Community Ventures at the Lyle's Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Fresno State University, she enthusiastically recommended I contact VSBDC and apply for your loan program. Dealing with the wonderfully professional, yet down-to-earth staff was a pleasant surprise and unexpected from a lending organization. Sarah walked me through each step of the formal process and was an excellent resource and confidant.
Hands 4 Learning is an interactive inter-lingual website for Early Childhood Educators and Parents of children zero to age six. Children experience first hand the benefits of our resources. With the funds Valley Small Business Development Corporation has qualified me for, Hands 4 Learning is truly a reality. I am grateful for and to VSBDC. I look forward to many years of success for Hands 4 Learning and those associated with the site. And owe it’s financial start to you - Valley Small Business Development Corporation.
With most sincere thanks,
To The Board of Directors of Valley Small Business Development Corporation
It is with great respect and appreciation that I write this letter. Without your support and encouragement we would not have had the opportunity to complete our dream project. The staff we dealt with were always friendly and always ready to help us in any way they could. Thank you for giving us the financing we needed and may you continue to provide these services to others and help them realize their dreams also.

Our first loan came about when we wanted to purchase a building in Orange Cove, Mayor Lopez arranged a meeting for us with VSBDC. We had been turned down by two of our local banks and were about to lose the opportunity to purchase the property at a very good price.
VSBDC not only loaned us the money to purchase the building but gave us enough to remodel the store as well. This was our first expansion and the VSBDC staff took the stress out of the process by making us feel welcome and comfortable. Today, our Orange Cove store is doing very well.
We received a second loan from VSBDC when we built our new store in Reedley. Again, we want to thank the staff (particularly Irene and Sarah) for working so closely with us and making the process easy and friendly.
THANK YOU VSBDC FROM THE JIMENEZ FAMILY
With a change of policy at a local bank that was financing my ranch, my loan was terminated. I had to find another source of financing. I had experienced financial setbacks for several years due to depressed markets for grapes. I was recommended to Valley Small Business Development Corporation by several people. Each of them had good words and spoke highly of Valley. I called Valley for an appointment and a meeting was arranged. I met with Debbie Raven and her staff to explain my financial situation, needs, future plans, and ultimate goals for years to come. I was really impressed with their service. They have a broad knowledge of agriculture and farming operations. They were actually listening to my needs.
Since I was changing my operation from grapes to almonds (because of soil born disease that made growing quality grapes impossible), I explained my long term financial needs that would make this transaction possible. A plan was laid out to make this change and was presented to Valley for their approval. They accepted my plans with minimal changes. They made suggestions to make the operation more profitable and to simplify the loan.
With the experience that I've had since the fall of 1993, I couldn't be happier and more confident of the business relationship that I have with Valley. I highly recommend any person contact Valley for their needs. I know that Valley will treat them professionally and with great respect.
